Super New EYFS Team at Gunthorpe
Gunthorpe Primary school has just released their 2019 Reception results and they have achieved 75% GLD. A good level of development (GLD) is defined as: Children achieving at least the expected level within the areas of learning: communication and language; physical development; personal, social and emotional development; literacy and mathematics.. This result of 75% is an increase of 20% on the previous year. It makes Gunthorpe primary above Peterborough average at 67% (2018) and above national at 71.5%(2018).
The Early Years team at Gunthorpe is now lead by Miss Louise Smith who has joined us from Surrey, who works alongside her colleague Miss Claire Hawkins who has joined us from Cambridge. A survey was carried out asking Reception parents of Gunthorpe children to comment on the education provided. 100% of parents agreed or strongly agreed their child is happy and is making good progress at Gunthorpe. Some comments from parents include:
“My son has a brilliant teacher and teaching assistant and I couldn't have asked for better people to introduce him to the school environment.”
“My child’s maths has improved tenfold so a big thank you to his teacher and teaching assistant for that.”
“Teachers and TAs are very friendly and approachable for parents and children. My child has progressed very well during this year and has enjoyed their learning.”
If you have a child who will be starting school in September 2020, please get in contact with Miss Smith at Gunthorpe and she will be more than happy to show you around.
