Local Governing Committee
The Local Governing Committee (LGC) is a group of volunteers who provide local assurance to the Trust Board about how well the school is serving its pupils and community.
The LGC does not manage the day-to-day running of the school. That responsibility sits with the Headteacher and senior leaders. Instead, the LGC focusses on the key priorities for the school, seeking assurance that standards are strong, safeguarding is effective, and that pupils are receiving a high-quality education. This includes reviewing evidence, asking focused questions and ensuring that leaders can demonstrate impact.
Working within the governance structure of Soke Education Trust, the LGC brings local knowledge and context, and provides insight from the community to support informed decision-making at Trust level.
If you would like further information about the work of the LGC, or are interested in becoming a governor, please contact the Clerk to Governors at clerk1@sokeeducationtrust.co.uk
