Complaints and Concerns
Gunthorpe Primary School is committed to working in partnership with the parents of children in our care. If you have concerns over your child’s education or have a complaint to make, we will see you as soon as possible and will deal with your problem promptly and courteously.
School opens at 8.45 am daily and there is a fifteen minute period for parents to speak to a teacher at this time.
All teachers remain in their classrooms for ten minutes after school and can be spoken to at that time. Appointments outside of these times can be arranged with individual class teachers.
If your complaint or concern cannot be dealt with by the class teacher, please speak to Mrs Hollingsworth, Headteacher. In the event of Mrs Hollingsworth being unavailable please speak to Mrs Brattan, Deputy Headteacher.
In the event of receiving a complaint we will contact you within 24 hours to inform you of what action we intend to take. If you are not satisfied with the action taken by the school you may complain to the Chair of the Governing Body, who may refer the matter to the relevant committee. This committee will consider the complaint and contact you within 5 school days from the date of its meeting.
Copies of the local authority’s Official Complaints Form can be obtained from the Education Department.
