Life Cycle project

Life Cycle Project – Bikes for children.

As part of their Environmental, Social and Governance, Peterborough City Hospital have been working on a scheme whereby they donate old bikes to families and children. In conjunction with The Life Cycle Project, the bikes are repaired up to standard and then are donated, along with a water bottle.

At Gunthorpe Primary School we were fortunate enough to be given 15 bikes! Some of the bikes have been allocated to children and families to take home, whilst the remaining bikes will stay in school to support children to participate in Bikeability and for our Learning Mentor to use with the children.

The children’s reactions to being given or using one of the bikes, has been amazing. Such happy, pleased and grateful pupils and parents. The look on some of the children's faces were a memory that will remain with staff for ever!
