School Information
Gunthorpe Primary School is maintained by Peterborough Local Education Authority. It was built in 1963/64 in a residential area in the North of the city. It is housed in a spacious, light, airy building and has extensive playing fields, two hard playgrounds, a garden playground for Reception/Playgroup, a basketball court and a wildlife area. There are eleven classrooms, an ICT Suite, an art room, a chill out room which provides time out/group facilities and has a fully equipped kitchen for cookery classes, two halls, a music area, a library, a museum (resources area) an administrative block and school kitchen. At Gunthorpe Primary School, we currently have 278 children on roll.
The teaching staff at Gunthorpe Primary School are enthusiastic, hardworking and supportive. The school is currently organised into two Reception classes, two Year 1 classes, one Year 2 Class, one Year 3 Class, one parallel mixed Year 3/4 class, one Year 4 class, one Year 5 class. one parallel mixed Year 5/6 class and one Year 6 class. The school also offers many extremely popular extra-curricular clubs such as: football, choir, cross country running, dance, drama, art, netball, science, hockey and computing.
