Enrichment Sessions

image of playground ball gamesEnrichment sessions are provided to develop aspects of the children's development above and beyond the national curriculum. To this end the school employs specialists to work alongside the Teaching Assistants with the pupils in traditionally underdeveloped areas like dance, gymnastics, cricket and music. We aim to promote pupils physical well being and develop their thinking skills by challenging them in different ways.

image of an indoor exercise sessionOnce a week each year group will have Enrichment Sessions, these may include Football, Tag Rugby, Multi-Skills Gymnastics, Dance, Cricket and Music.  There are also ICT Film Making and Art sessions run by the school staff.  Children taking part in sport activities will have 2 activities on each enrichment day which will change on a termly rota.  Children involved in the film making may continue with the Film Group if they are enjoying the sessions and have a continuing role in the film.

Although these sessions are great fun the children are also learning a lot of sports skills, there may be a chance to earn certificates in gymnastics and for some of the older pupils there can also be an opportunity to enter into Dance competitions or shows.
