Year 1 Reading Cafe

Year 1 had an amazing time at their reading cafĂ© and so did their parents! The children were able to sit down with their parents and listen to their class teacher read 'The Day the Crayons Quit' to them. They then went off and completed different tasks that were related to the book such as designing an outfit for the peach crayon, creating their own park setting using a range of different colours and sequenced the story onto a hat. This allowed them to enjoy some fun activities whilst still learning about the story of the book.

Here is some of the feedback we received from parents:

"Good fun activities. Time was well spent with my child and good ideas on how to read at home"

"All children enjoyed the cafe it was exciting and different with lots to do"

"Talking with child about stories and engaging in fun activities with them"

"All the children enjoyed being involved. Was nice to do things in school with my grandaughter"
